Terms of Service

Dashing Prints is a free, community-run bounty board where members post real-world problems and other members respond with open-source, 3D-printable solutions. It is not a marketplace. No money changes hands through the site, and nothing here is a contract for paid work. See About for more on how it works.

You need an account to post a bounty, publish a solution, or upvote. You're responsible for activity under your account, and for keeping the sign-in method you use (Google or your email address) secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Dashing Prints.

You keep ownership of the bounties, descriptions, images, and model files you upload. By posting, you grant Dashing Prints a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the site for as long as it stays published, so other visitors can view and download it as intended.

You're responsible for having the right to post what you upload. Model files must be your own work, in the public domain, or shared under a license that permits free redistribution. When you publish a solution you must say truthfully whether you designed it, changed someone else's design, or are passing on a design someone else made, and credit its creator where it isn't yours. See the Open-Source STL Guidelines. Do not upload content you don't have the rights to, or content that infringes someone else's copyright, patent, or trademark.

Prints are provided as-is. Dashing Prints doesn't test, certify, or guarantee the safety, accuracy, or fitness of any design for a particular purpose. Evaluate a file yourself before printing and using it, especially for anything load-bearing or safety-related.

If you believe a model, image or other content on Dashing Prints infringes your copyright, email dashingtechnologies@gmail.com with: a description of the work you own; the address of the page here where the material appears; your name, postal address, telephone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law; a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

We may remove the material, or mark it as another person's design with credit to its creator, and we will tell the member who posted it. That member may reply with a counter-notice if they believe the material was removed by mistake. Members who repeatedly post material they have no right to post will lose their accounts.

You can also use the Report button on any solution, choosing “It's someone else's design” and including a link to the original. That is the fastest route if the design is open-source but has been posted as another person's own work.

Follow our Community Guidelines when posting. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend an account that posts infringing, harassing, illegal, or spam content, or that otherwise abuses the service, including attempting to bypass upload limits, scrape the site at scale, or interfere with other members' use of it.

We run a limited amount of advertising through Google AdSense to cover hosting and file-storage costs. Details on the cookies and data involved are in our Privacy Policy.

You can stop using Dashing Prints and request account deletion at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate access for violating these terms. Because bounties and solutions are public and other members may rely on them, removing your account does not automatically delete content you've already published, so tell us if you want that content taken down too.

Dashing Prints is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site or from printing, using, or relying on any design shared here, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We may update these terms as the site changes. We'll revise the effective date above when we do, and note material changes on the site.
